Swedish dance music sensation Avicii was in India on a three-city tour this weekend, and boy was he busy.

The DJ - who played in Mumbai on Sunday - is collaborating with Sonu Nigam on a new track. This is the first time he is working with an Indian artist. Avicii, whose track Levels has topped music charts worldwide, is planning to use Sonu's vocals on an electronic track. For Nigam, Avicii is one more addition to his growing list of international collaborations. Previously, the singer has worked with Britney Spears on her single I Wanna Go In The Past, and also plans to work with Jay Sean in the future.

Avicii confident of his first desi collaborations success


The 24-year-old DJ and Grammy nominee has tied-up with Sonu Nigam for his first India collaboration.

Swedish music sensation Tim Bergling a.k.a. Avicii is confident of the success of his first Indian collaboration track. The DJ, who is rated the Number 6 DJ in the Top 100 EDM space, tied-up with playback singer Sonu Nigam for the desi version of his global hit "Levels" that garnered over 20 million combined hits on the Internet till date.
A confident Avicii says, "I'm just back from my first India tour and what a great time I've had! I've been hearing so much about Bollywood music that I just love the idea of merging the number one voice of Bollywood with high energy 'house' music. I think the results of this project will prove fantastic indeed! I can't wait to finish it." The track will be released on Universal Music.

As part of his India tour, Avicii rocked Mumbai with his recent gig in a South Mumbai club on Sunday night.

Popular playback singer Sonu Nigam is collaborating with Swedish DJ and remixer, Tim Berg aka Avicii on his globally hit number, `Levels`.

The collaboration brings together the pulsating electronic dance sounds of Avicii with the vocals of Nigam.


"Electronic dance music is an extremely popular genre. So when Universal Music approached me to collaborate with Avicii, who is one of the Top rated EDM DJs in the world, I had to do it! At just 24, it`s amazing what he has achieved. `Levels` is a global hit. I`m very excited on how this collaboration is shaping up and I`m confident that it will not only enthrall the EDM fans but will take the track to a whole new audience in India and overseas as well," Nigam said.

Avicii is one of the youngest and most talented DJ`s in the electronic dance music space. This collaboration with Nigam will also introduce his music to the Indian singer`s legion of fans around the globe.

MUMBAI: Popular bollywood singer Sonu Nigam will collaborate with international electronica singer Avicii for his hit track ‘Levels.’ The single will be released by Universal Music India.

The track that has garnered over 20 million hits on the internet will feature vocals of Sonu Nigam and electronic dance sounds of Avicii. Sonu Nigam has previously collaborated with Britney Spears for her single ‘I Wanna Go’.

DJ Avicii has announced plans to collaborate with Bollywood musician Sonu Nigam.

The 24-year-old DJ has said that he will record an Indian version of the track 'Levels' with the singer and X Factor judge, The Times of India reports.

"I'm just back from my first India tour and what a great time I've had. I've been hearing so much about Bollywood music that I just love the idea of merging the number one voice of Bollywood with high energy 'house' music," said Avicii.

The Swedish star added: "I think the results of this project will prove fantastic indeed. I can't wait to finish it."

Avicii recently settled a plagiarism case with Leona Lewis over her use of his instrumental track 'Fade Into Darkness' on the single 'Collide'.

Nigam has earlier worked with a number of international artists including Kylie Minogue, Jermaine Jackson and Britney Spears.

Sonu Nigam has of course worked with mainstream artists like Britney Spears in conjunction with DesiHits! so I'm not completely surprised AVICII has chosen Sonu to create a Hindi version of 'Levels'.
